FAIR WORKSHOPS:
Our Fair Workshops are listed above and hope you can attend. We will be organizing simple crafts on
Thursday, March 11th; and Tuesday, March, 16th we will be making dino- eggs. We will be handing out sugar
cookie mixes for parents who would bake sugar cookies at home. In the past, we made them in the church
kitchen but it’s easier for parents to make them at home and bring them back to school on Thursday or
Friday before the fair. We need at least 12 dozen cookies for the children to decorate.
TRANSITION TO KINDERGARTEN:
On Tuesday, March 30th; we will have an evening with a kindergarten and first grade teacher to discuss
readiness for kindergarten and the kindergarten curriculum. The teachers will be here to answer your
many questions. A separate flier will announce the event.
MOVEMENT CLASS/ YOGA: Sunshine Nursery School has a movement class within the school day,
bimonthly with Margit Griffith, plus the four and five year olds have Laureen Federico for a yoga class.
The children love these activities and we’re happy to have both of these excellent teachers with us!
REMINDER: Please label all lunch boxes, hats, and back packs with your child’s name. Please remember
healthy snacks, simple animal crackers, saltines, grahams, cheese-it,etc. Please keep special snacks for
birthday parties and holidays. Thanks!
TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER:
For income tax purposes, our tax identification number is: 04-284-9487
PLEASE DO NOT LET CHILDREN DO THE FOLLOWING FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY:
Play in the cemetery unattended especially now that spring is coming!
(Many years ago a child broke his leg when a tombstone fell on him!)
Running on the ramp and hanging on the railing by the Pre-K room is dangerous.
Please do not climb the trees in the courtyard and walk all over the natural ground cover.
Please do not leave children of any age unattended in the building!

WORKING AT ACTIVITIES AT THE FAIR!
*Every classroom will have sign-up sheets outside the classrooms for parents to give an hour of their time
at the fair. If every family gave us an hour, the fair would run smoothly. Please sign-up to help.
*The “Fair Baskets” from the classrooms for raffle will be in the hall outside the office, the last week of
March before the fair. The raffles are $1.00 each. The tickets will be sold the week before the fair and
at the fair.
* Please DAD’S- we need help to set-up the maze on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM before the fair! The job
is to tape together very large boxes that are used as a long tunnel and the children pay one ticket to crawl
through them. We could use many dads for this job. The sign-up sheet is in the hall outside the office.

CELL-PHONES:
When parent helping, please leave cell-phones at home. In case of an emergency they are fine but ringing
phones can be disruptive in the classrooms.
Birthday Invitations:
If your child is having a birthday party and all the children in the class are not being invited, PLEASE send
invitations in the mail. Children’s feelings are hurt when others receive invitations in school and they are
left out. This issue is stated in the Sunshine Parent Handbook. Thanks.
PARKING:
Please do not park in the curve next to the church building. Leaving your car blocking the driveway causes
traffic jams. Please be considerate.
STUDENT TEACHER:
Marc Bregman, a Lesley University student is with Susan Remeika's class for the semester. Marc goes to
the Pre-K class on Wednesdays. It's terrific having Marc here and the children so enjoy him.
CREDIT CARDS:
We are investigating the option for parents to pay tuition by credit cards. It would cost Sunshine a small
percentage to offer the service and $10.00 a month service fee. If you are interested in this service.
please stop in the office and let us know.
